CO2 Levels Surpassed 415 PPM In The Atmosphere Since The Human Evolution
The brutal human race has been consuming fossil fuels at an excessive pace for its own benefits irrespective of thinking about the destructive effects on the environment.
Since the evolution of the human race, for the first time, the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has surpassed all the previous records and reached the concentration of 415.26 parts per million. The CO2 concentration was measured by the equipped sensors at the Mauna Loa Observatory.
A report was released in the previous week, which revealed that not less than a million species are at the verge of extinction owing to the carbon and global gases emissions by the human actions.
If the carbon emission rate and climate change follow a consistent trend, by the Year 2090, it will cost the U.S. almost $500 Billion for a year.
The rise in atmospheric temperature is associated with the increase in carbon dioxide levels due to the heat absorbing properties of CO2 molecules.
On a similar subject matter, Honda—Japanese automaker—is still focused to launch diesel car models in India even after the Sixth Stage of Bharat Stage (BS-VI) Emission norms are announced. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki has decided to discontinue diesel cars’ sale from the next fiscal year.
A senior official of HCIL (Honda Cars India Ltd.) said that the company decides to upgrade its two key diesel engines. The current versions of these engines are equipped in different models comprising City, Amaze, BR-V, CR-V, WR-V, and Civic. However, the company would design the upgraded petrol and diesel engines based on the BS-VI norms.
The company is expecting to launch the upgraded BS-VI engines equipped models from the last quarter of this fiscal year.
Rajesh Goel—Senior Vice President and Marketing & Sales Director at HCIL—recognized that fuel dynamics would vary after implementation of BS-VI norms with an increasing price gap between diesel and petrol models.
