Apple Plans An Investment Of $1Bn For Its New Campus In Texas
Apple in planning to invest a billion dollar in its new campus that is located in the Austin of Texas, Apple said in its statement which was released on last Thursday. The planned new campus in the North Austin is said to be spreading across 133 acres and will have a capacity of accommodating somewhere around 5k employees in the initial phase. This campus will have a capacity to accommodate around total 15K employees. The location of this new campus in near the existing facility of Apple and will open up jobs in several domains like Customer support, sales, finance, operations, Research and Development, and Engineering.
The company has said that, it is set to be become the largest employer in the Austin area. Tim Cook, who is the CEO of Apple, has said that the company feels proud to put in such huge investments which will generate a couple of new jobs in various cities across US. In the statement which was issued in Thursday, the company also said that it is planning to open up new facilities in Culver City, San Diego, & Seattle. With the opening of this new facility, the company will be taking 1k employees on board within a span of next 3 years. It also added that the company would also be expanding its operations in Oregon, Portland, Boston, Boulder, New York, and Pittsburg.
The company also noted in its statement that the company has added more than 6k jobs in its existing workforce throughout the United States in the year 2018. The company aims at creating 20k jobs by the year 2023. The American tech giant has also planned to invest around $10Bn in its data centers in the United States in the coming 5 years.
