Kia Goes Wild With Screens On Its Imagine Concept Car

Kia threw around words such as “surprise” and “emotion” to define its newest concept electric vehicle, but the first thing we felt when having a look at it was “confusion.” On the exterior, “Imagine by Kia” is a muscular & handsome C-class car that, if anything, is a little traditional for a concept vehicle. Inside, on the other hand, the interior fried the users’ brain with its mirrored surface, faceted seats, and bizarre series of 21 angled displays on the dashboard.
The best part is without a doubt the screens, set up in a rippling pattern all over the dash in manner that is both “coordinated and casual,” claimed Kia. They also serve to tease other firm’s vehicles, which is a pretty YOLO thought for a concept vehicle. “These 21 extremely slim screens are an irreverent and humorous riposte to the current rivalry between some automotive makers to see who can make the vehicle with the largest display,” claimed Ralph Kluge, interior designer, to the media in an interview.
On a related note, Taiwan-located electronics company Acer earlier displayed its self-driving level-4 concept car during Taiwan Automotive Technology Innovation Summit 2018. It was revealed in associated with Taiwan-located automakers Yulon Group and its subsidiaries car brand Luxgen and automotive electronics supplier HAITEC. The demonstration incorporated autonomous driving system by Acer with electric vehicle platform dubbed as Luxgen S3. The firm showcased their shared dream of autonomous driving and AI technology.
The self-driving level 4-ready concept vehicle is developed on the innovative electric vehicle platform, Luxgen S3. It integrates autonomous driving system by Acer that encompasses decision-making, sensing, and control. Its self-driving system employs AI. The sensor fusion algorithms offer data from RTK (real-time kinematic) positioning, Lidars, cameras, inertial measurement unit (IMU), MMW radars, and ultrasonic sensors. It also employs deep learning tech to perform object recognition, and then applies dynamic vehicle management to trigger autonomous driving.
